RED EARTH by J.Ireland (aka Rebel in the Eve Of The War Forum) Click on the below images for a larger view "......You see, how I mean to live is underground. I've been thinking about the drains. Of course those who don't know drains think them horrible things; but under this London are miles and miles- hundreds of miles- and a few days' rain and London empty will leave them sweet and clean. The main drains are big enough and airy for anyone. Then there's cellars, vaults, stores, from which bolting passages may be made to the drains. And the railway tunnels and subways. Eh? You begin to see? We form a band- able-bodied, clean-minded men. We're not going to pick up any rubbish that drifts in. Weaklings go out again." For the first two chapters of The Red Earth, click here "Nothing, however, could prepare me for the events that occurred a few years into the new reign of His Majesty King Edward. Shortly after these events I saw, in a popular news sheet of the time by the name of ‘The Pall Mall Budget’ or some such, an account of the War which mentioned in passing the brave stand made by HMS ‘Thunder Child’. I then vowed to put forth my own account of this struggle, having been ‘in the thick of it’ as the popular saying goes. Now I can fulfil that solemn vow." For the full story, click here
FIGHTING MACHINE IN LEGO by The Trog "Me (The Trog) has built a tripod in lego. Here are three screenies. The legs are not very tall, though. I didn't have enough pieces to make those legs longer, and it can neither walk. It is, however, quite exact to the description. Not my true belief of how they should look, but quite near it. Yes, the Heat Ray funnel has some likenesses with a minigun..." Click on the above images for larger versions
ORIGAMI MARTIAN by Jussts "One of my hobbies is origami, so I decided to make an origami Martian. Below is a pic of it. it's not the best pic ever, it's just me laying the thing on my scanner basically, but it came out clear enough I think. The origami Martian is my own original creation and it's fairly book accurate, it's got large eyes, a fleshy, v-shaped beak, 16 tentacles (8 on each side), and a tympanic membrane on the back (the little inset picture next to the big one is the rear view of the Martian, showing it's tympanic membrane). I'm working on making it a bit more like the book (I'm trying to add a lower v-shaped lip and to separate the left and right groups of tentacles a bit).
